CML is the community outreach arm of Citygate Ministries International.  It exists to enhance the growth and development of young people in families, churches and community.  The work of CML involves:

• Group mentoring where a small number of young people learn skills in a group work setting.

• Providing guidance, support and information in their spiritual, social, educational and career aspirations.

• Helping young people overcome their hang ups and achieve goals through personal coaching and counseling.

• Advising, training and supporting churches, youth groups and other organisations to set up mentoring schemes for the benefit of their staff, members and users.

 

Who Is the Group For?

The group is designed for young people between 18 and 25 years.

Benefits of Mentoring

Research shows that youth who are paired with caring, consistent adult role models and friends are less likely to:

• Indulge in drug and alcohol use

• Engage in truancy from school

• Behave aggressively and get into violence

• They have improved relationships with their parents
